The aftermath has just begun

The number of people who think that this

Image hosted by TinyPic.com

type of behaviour is acceptable in the wake of this

Image hosted by TinyPic.com

(especially when the Cheney maladministration cut funding for levee improvements to reallocate it to the occupation of Iraq) is decreasing rapidly but the true beleivers are becoming totally detached from empirical reality and are started to act like cornered wolverines. They are clearly spoiling for a fight. Think of the guy who ran over the crosses at Camp Casey, or the guy who discharged a shotgun there, or the emotionally and intellectually stunted pro-war cretins gathering in Crawford, shown here in a truth out video, which you can find on their multimedia index page, entitled "Pro-Bush / Pro-War - Rally Coverage."

Image hosted by TinyPic.com

If they want to continue imposing their anti-human, anti-future, anti-planet agenda on us, they will get it. The are rapidly discarding the hypocracy of the Amerikkkan dream and consciously aligning themselves with its most craven, venal and vicious elements with a brazen honesty. They are a clear and present danger to the collective survival of the planet. The only question is how many oppose them in the military, intelligence and civil service of the Amerikkkan/American federal government. Will there be enough to stop the ensuing clampdown on dissent?

It is an open question. Personally, I don't like the odds.

People who believe in truth, empirical reality, peace, social justice and environmental sustainbility tend to vote democrat. But the democrats have been selling us out for 15 years. Their erstwhile base is detaching steadily, thanks to the Democratic Leadership Council's shortsighted imperative of Winning Elections (which isn't working anyway because of Diebod and friends and because they are marketing themselves as Republican lite to appeal to mythical "swing voters"). Win, so they can, what?! Fellate the Repigs who hate them, don't respect them and laugh at their weakness?

And yet in NOLA black people loot but white people find?!

Image hosted by TinyPic.com

What about the corporations that loot from us, the people? The mainstream media (MSM) has become a parody. Its filthy crimes merely stack up in this time of standing, confused and forlorn, at a historical crossroads, set to walk to a secure future of abundance or global obliteration. Initial indicators do not look good. The system is built on exploitative, short term gain, which has no concept of stewardship. Unfortunately, the line into irrevocable damage is about to be passed within the next few years, if it has not already been passed.

It is time to take a leap of faith into reality.

Does the fringe hold the truth?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Katrina was not the cataclysm so many of us worried about. Thank Dog.

And yet this hurricane occured in a context in which prophecies of catastrophe abound. John Titor 2012, end of Mayan calender 2012, Peak Oil, Martial Law in Amerikkka, the Israel-centered escaton of the neoconservative death cult of evangelican born-again Xtians (endless buyers of the Left Behind series and serial Republican voters) - portents of economic upheavel, political upheavel. So many seem to crave a decisive cesura.

Does this correspond to the psychological needs of the thinker or is it a defendable analysis of empirical reality?

Weather warfare, amerikkkan concentration camps and satanic ritual abuse (if we bracket the UFOlogists and flouride opponents for the time being), these types of topics surely represent the "paranoid lunatic fringe" of conspiranoia in mainstream conception. Yet, no one - not a single one - of those "gate keepers" defending the "mainstream" and having their careers advanced because of it have ever given any of these topics any serious attention at all. If they had, they would not have been so flippant and the edifice of their careerist worlds would have begun crumbling down around them long ago.

But how far to go? How to judge the signal to noise ratio inherent in any fringe topic? They may be bizarre and "beyond the pale of polite discussion" or "reasonable political discourse," but that does not make them false. In fact they are beyond the pale because some rich and powerful scum fucking evil doers want them stranded out there - so they can continue fucking the world to advance their own class interests, even though their most adament supporters are usually merely bourgeois or working class technocrats lifted up by the great commercial dynasties to perform key service roles.

Is weather warfare in process? I don't know. I hate to believe in anything I can't prove or create a preponderance of evidence for.

More on these liminal topics as the work evolves.

To quote Rodney King: "why can't we just get along?"

Link to live water vapor loop.

Link to live French quarter video cam

Link to live Bourbon Street video cam

Katrina is a Cat 5 hurricane with sustained winds in excess of 150 mph and gusts of up to 200 mph. Storm surges of 18 to 28 feet are predicted, topped by waves of 25 to 40 feet. The levees are 15 feet high.

This could be the one everyone has always feared.

Katrina Targeting U.S. Oil Operations

"The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, which processes loads from tankers too large for mainland ports, evacuated all workers and stopped unloading ships on Saturday morning said Mark Bugg, the terminal's manager of scheduling. The LOOP, 20 miles offshore, is the nation's largest oil import terminal and handles 11 percent of U.S. oil imports."

Other refineries in the immediate area include:
Baton Rouge Refinery (ExxonMobil), Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Belle Chasse Refinery (ConocoPhillips), Belle Chasse, Louisiana
Chalmette Refinery (ExxonMobil), Chalmette, Louisiana
Convent Refinery (Motiva Enterprises), Convent, Louisiana
Cotton Valley Refinery (Calumet Lubricants), Cotton Valley, Louisiana
Garyville Refinery (Marathon Ashland Petroleum), near Garyville, Louisiana
Krotz Springs Refinery (Valero), Krotz Springs, Louisiana
Lake Charles Refinery (Citgo), Lake Charles, Louisiana
Lake Charles Refinery (Calcasieu Refining), Lake Charles, Louisiana
Meraux Refinery (Murphy Oil), Meraux, Louisiana
Norco Refinery (Motiva Enterprises), Norco, Louisiana
Port Allen Refinery (Placid Refining), Port Allen, Louisiana
Princeton Refinery (Calumet Lubricants), Princeton, Louisiana
Shreveport Refinery (Calumet Lubricants), Shreveport, Louisiana
St. Charles Refinery (Valero), Norco, Louisiana
Westlake Refinery (ConocoPhillips), Westlake, Louisiana

Only Texas and California have more refineries.

And the Gulf has over 4,000 offshore oil drilling rigs, which will be snapped like twigs.

New Orleans Braces for Powerful Katrina AP/Yahoo

Weather Channel

I am an atheist but I wish I could pray. NOLA is the coolest city in the country, one of the most unique cities in the world, and it seems like it will soon be wiped off the face of the planet.

oil skyrockets $4 to top $70 a barrel in early Monday trading in Singapore.

Is this weather warfare against the domestic population?

"There are some reports, for example, that some countries have been trying to construct something like an Ebola Virus, and that would be a very dangerous phenomenon, to say the least. Alvin Toeffler has written about this in terms of some scientists in their laboratories trying to devise certain types of pathogens that would be ethnic-specific so that they could just eliminate certain ethnic groups and races; and others are designing some sort of engineering, some sort of insects
that can destroy specific crops. Others are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.

So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work
finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It's
real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our efforts, and
that's why this is so important."

- Former Secretary of Defense William Cohen, April 28, 1997, University of Georgia

I don't know for sure and have no way of knowing. But I do assume that if Amerikkka is worried about "terrorists" or "rogue states" doing it, then Amerikkka has already mastered the technique.

I have never been as emotionally involved in a hurricane as I am with this one. In part because I have experienced the charm of the city, in part because the loss of life threatens to be catastrophic, in part because I agreed with much of what the recent psuedo-documentary Oil Storm said - that if a major hurricane hit the area the economic, political, and social ramifications could be cataclysmic and knock over the house of cards that is the oil-based bankrupt Amerikkkan economy.

How 911 changed me

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

When 911 occured, many people smelled a rat immediately. Not me. I was firmly in the blowback camp, epitomized by Chalmers Johnson's book of the same name. Didn't Amerikkka fund, train and arm Emmanual bin Laden since the 1980s in Afghanistan, which gave him the means of sending planes full of hot and evil jet fuel into the World Trade Center? Create and work with monsters and don't be surprised if they act like monsters. "Hadn't this happened with many Amerikkkan-created dictators etc before?" I thought and left it at that.

Until

I saw one sentence: "the Bush and bin Laden family have made money for years through the Carlyle Group" written on butcher paper hung upon a wall at a memorial one year after.

I had never heard of that connection. Researched it. Implications and connections spiraled out from there in dozens of directions. Researched those, 17 hours a day for a month. When I finally pulled the plug on that phase of inquiry because I was teetering on the bring of clinical paranoia, I was firmly and forever in the MIHOP/LIHOP camp and had became a changed person. Although I had always been a radical/progressive/liberal/anarchist/whatever, prone to think the worst of Power, I discovered that Reality was far worse than anything I could have ever imagined in my worst nightmares, that there is a small confederation of competing-cooperating camps at the overlap of law, politics, diplomacy, military, paramilitary, law enforcement, high finance, intelligence, organized crime, narcotrafficking, secret societies, media and big oil who are the technicians, muscle, and psy-op specialists serving the interests of the great commerical dynasties. This includes manufacturing conflict as the simplest and most effective means of acheiving their most basic agenda - getting even richer - by enacting the Hegelian dialetic of thesis-antithesis-synthesis, which consolidates their ongoing ability to exert social control and mask their true agenda behind the cascading tsunami of lies known as the mainstream media (MSM) and the "conventional wisdom/consensus reality."

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That is the nightmare from which I cannot wake up. This is also why I found it impossible to support Kerry

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

and find it impossible to support Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden or whichever military imperialist corporate whore the Democratic Leadership (sic) Council wants to send down the pipe, in spite of how many times party hacks lecture me with banal platitudes about the "Need to Assume Power to Enact Our Agenda" or that me and my ilk are "Naval Gazers Obsessed with Ideological Purity at the Expense of Winning Elections."

As the great labor leader Eugene Debs said "I'd rather vote for something I believe in and lose than vote for something I don't believe in and win." So true - and unavoidable.

When the Powers That Be have their hands up the asses of the puppets on the "left" and "right," to notice it and say so is only intellectual honesty and pattern recognition, not "Splitterism" or setting up a "Circular Firing Squad." After all, you have got to admit a problem exists before you can solve it.

If you study 911 for more than a few hours there is no way to avoid making a definitive conclusion that the United States government had foreknowledge and/or complicity with the attack. Although there are dozens of anomalies that add up to an overwhelming preponderance of evidence in favor of this conclusion, if you are new to true study of this topic, let me steer in one direction: WTC 7. No planes full of hot and evil jet fuel hit this building. Why did it fall?

We are all runaway slaves now

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The transnational corporate kleptocratic system is one big global plantation now and we are all runaway slaves. There is no way to fight it at this stage. The only option is to elude its pernicious grasp: by flight, camoflauge, deception, playing dead, or what have you. There is no North Star to run for nowadays, no clear physical route to safety, freedom and hope. Each person must make their own provisions to accomplish these goals in their own ways but however they attempt it, it can no longer be accomplished in Amerikkka, where the boom is lowering more each day.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Walter Hawkins

Walter Hawkins preached the eternal truth when he said that "there arose in some an irrepressible desire for freedom which no danger or power could restrain, no hardship deterred, and no bloodhound could alarm. This desire haunted them night and day; they talked about it to each other in confidence; they knew that the system which bound them was as unjust as it was cruel, and that they ought to strive, as a duty to themselves and their children, to escape from it."

Henry Bibb

But the hardest part was leaving family and friends. Then and now, many of those nearest and dearest to our hearts think the desire to run is foolish, faulty and selfish. Henry Bibb wrote that "one of the most self-denying acts of my whole life, to take leave of an affectionate wife, who stood before me on my departure, with dear little Frances in her arms, and with tears of sorrow in her eyes as she bid me a long farewell."

Nevertheless, those running or about to run know that they must run. It is never an easy decision but once made, irrevocable. Those who counsel for continued sufferance of a regime of tyranny typically do not have full posession of all the facts. Let me kick some your way.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

"In his book American Mania, a psychiatrist urges us to stop our endless quest of accumulation -- unless we want to witness a mass psychological and economic meltdown."

Allow me to break it down for you in a macrostructural way. Our great gift from the universe as humans is the ability of reason to serve as a check on our instinctual urges. Unfortunately, in the last 200 years with the rise of the hydrocarbon-based industrial revolution, we have succeded in devising creature comforts and a built environment that (in the "first world" anyway) appeal so viscerally to our instinctual urges that it occludes our reason. Basically, we are so hung up on "enjoying" what we've got that we don't think/can't think/won't think about the raw fact that it is bought at the cost of destroying the habilitability of our spaceship for future generations. And we are not going to alter our behavior until it destroys us and by the time it destroys us, it will destroys us well and truly, reducing us to a few tattered bands roaming a desolate planet bereft and forlorn among smoldering ruins.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Think I am exaggerating? Think again. The Cheney maladministration is assiduously massaging the geopolitical conditions of the world to facilitate a nuclear strike against Iran, probably by the use of a false flag terrorist attack in Amerikkka.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

These neocon Jacobian psychopaths are counting on the obvious ramifications, that such an attack would unite China, Russia, Russian client states, Iran, and probably even the European Union, United Kingdom, Brazil and Venezuela and India against the United States, with nuclear counterstrikes distinctly possible. They don't care about the mass death and permanent environmental devastation this would create. In fact, they welcome it as a tool for the further consolidation and control of the brain-dead masses in Amerikkka, so they can squeeze the last few drops out of the dessicated orange.

Do you want to know when the trigger will be, so you can protect those few among your friends and family who are ready, willing and able to listen? Let me be clear, Cointellpro operatives and Echelon spiderbots:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

being a mere field hand on the global plantation, I have no verifiable idea what that might be and no desire at all to see it take place - nevertheless I do have an educated guess as to what it might be and where it might take place. Since 911 and 77 were both conducted under "emergency training drills" that mimicked EXACTLY what happened and given the lack of federal funding for port security, I have long suspected that the next incident would involve a port. Alot of people suspected the recent exercises in Charleston involving "fake" smuggled nuclear material were set to go live and that's why the officer in charge was canned over "sexual misconduct" just months before his reitrement, which never ever happens with four star generals. Luckily, there was so much speculation about it on the web they had to stand down.

So when I learned that "U.S. ports are preparing for catastrophic terrorism in a major new program of security drills that began last week in the San Francisco Bay area and continues next week in Baltimore" lead by a private company called Unitech, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration and which will continue in "exercises scheduled around the country through September 2007" I immediately became nervous and wanted to see a list of where these exercises would take place, so I could avoid them. Here it is.

And believe me, they have already destroyed Amerikkka economically, as was the plan all along. It is only when the Enron style accounting can finally no longer be sustained that the collapse will come suddenly and irrevocably.

David Walker, Comptroller General of the United States

Even David Walker - apparently one of the very last honest people in Washington D.C. - says that "I believe the country faces a critical crossroad and that the decisions that are made - or not made - within the next 10 years or so will have a profound effect on the future of our country, our children and our grandchildren. The problem gets bigger every day, and the tidal wave gets closer every day...There's no way we're going to grow our way out of our long-range fiscal imbalance...I really do not believe the American people have a real idea as to where we are and where we're headed, and what the potential implications are for the country if we don't start making some tough decisions soon."

Erstwhile Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil commissioned a report which found that the unfunded liabilitiy for entitlement programs like Social Security is $43 trillion while the cumulative existing wealth in Amerikkka is $38 trillion. Put another way that means that each American owes a $145,000 bill on that $43 trillion, or $350,000 for every full-time worker. How ever you slice it, Amerikkka is bankrupt. As with a headless chicken running around the barn yard, it is only a matter of when the few seconds of residual oxygen finally runs out and the body finally slumps over to bleed a last few pulsations into the dirt.

Stupider, Eviler

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

How The American Economy is Destroying Itself is a big, critically important topic. I am firmly convinced that 911 (and subsequent false flag terror operations) were carried out by reactionary elements within the American, Israeli and western military-intelligence complexes, as well as by privatized military-intelligence actors operating under corporate cover, a practice perfected during Iran Contra which has only accelerated dramatically since then.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The purpose of these spectacles of mass murder is to provide the pretext for the core states of global kleptocratic "capitalism" to go on one last final rampage of plunder before the system collapses under the weight of its own greed, moral filth and environmental degradation. Of course, when the edifice starts to crumble even people as readily brain-washable as Amerikkkans will finally grow restive, which brings us to the other function of false flag "terrorism" - to justify the incredibly invasive totalitarian regime of control, repression and surveillance that the Evil Doers (ie rich "capitalist" scumfucks) think is all that will be necessary to keep the serfs under control - the arrival of the "Technotronic Age" dreamed of by Carter's national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski almost 40 years ago.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Of course the main reason the sheeple will finally start looking up will be economic collapse. Certainly not because of monumental crimes against humanity, like the colonization of Iraq, being paid for out of their tax dollars and conducted in their name. 99% of Amerikkkan's couldn't care less, aside from vague and fleeting concerns over Amerikkkan casualties - Iraq and Iraqi "untermenschen" be damned.

There are many reasons the Amerikkkan economy is destroying itself. Although this article focuses narrowly on the outsourcing of Amerikkka's industrial and now high tech capacity, it is a good start.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

In Stagger on, weary Titan the author writes that "the US is reeling, like imperial Britain after the Boer war." This is absolutely true, as far as it goes. Amerikkka is in a terminal state of imperial collapse similar to the Edwardian period in Great Britain. But the story goes on to rehash some of the most execrable horseshit typical of "left-wing" gatekeepers - and this from the Manchster Guardian, one of the last real newspapers in the English speaking world.

The article claims that "the Boers launched a campaign of guerrilla warfare that kept British troops on the run for another two years. The British won only by a ruthlessness of which, I'm glad to say, the democratic, squeamish and still basically anti-colonialist United States appears incapable."

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
would a "squeamish" country do this, hundreds of thousands of times per decade?!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Amerikkka has killed over 9 million people since World War II in dozens and dozens of highly anti-democratic, ruthless and imperialist sprees - and now is busily ripping away the last tattered remnants of this monumentally hypocritical facade of its treatment of even its own benighted, brain-dead people, because there is so little left to steal abroad.

The author - either deluded or a shill - goes on to claim that "a few far-sighted people in Washington are beginning to formulate a long-term American strategy of trying to create an international order that would protect the interests of liberal democracies even when American hyperpower has faded." Without exception, the "interests of liberal democracies" have always been the interests of the most ruthless capitalist scum fucks operating out of those countries, who have used strong federal power to advance their own class interests through a system of socializing the costs and privatizing the benefits. That will never change until the earth has been utterly ravaged by the ecologically impact of their short-sighted greed, which should come within a decade or two.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Capitol Hill Blue claims, for about the third time in two years, that Bush's Obscene Tirades Rattle White House Aides. This wouldn't surprise me in the least. All you have to do is look at or listen to that coked-up frat-boy souse for ten seconds to realize that he is a rage-filled, terrified, soulless sack of shit who has never felt compassion, remorse or humility one time in his entire life of privileged failure.

The blogosphere keeps slagging on Capital Hill Blue as a "disreputable source." Does anyone know why? Is it the typical mud slung at unpacified, unrepentant truth tellers, or is there something I need to know and have yet to discover?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

When I read "the United States has approved full-rate production of a new Hellfire missile variant, touted by President George W. Bush for its ability to kill guerrillas in urban settings" I think of only one thing. How soon until they use it against dissidents in America? I give it a few years at the outside. I said it before and I will say it again and again. One of Iraq's roles is to serve as the beta test site for technologies of pain, destruction and murder so that they can be used in Amerikkka when the shit hits the fan.

Actually, I think of two things. I also think about how NYU rhetoric professor Mark Crispin Miller noted that Bush is incoherent when discussing things he doesn't care about (virtually everything) but is suddenly oddly very articulate when it comes to discussing war and violence.

Towards a critical meta-theory of conspiracy theory

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Image hosted by Photobucket.com Image hosted by Photobucket.com Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The pervasive stereotype of the conspiracy theorist is that of a paranoid, hyper-vigilant figure synthesizing an epic quantity of signs and symbols to draw up idiosyncratic arraignments of shadowy forces directing world affairs from behind the scenes. This caricature of a hard-driven eccentric loner battling the unseen wielding only the weapon of information has been expressed in a variety of movies, television programs, and books. Paradigmatic examples include Mel Gibson's character in Richard Donner's film Conspiracy Theory, the JFK assassination researcher in Richard Linklater's groundbreaking indie classic Slacker, numerous characters in Pynchon and Delillo novels and – of course – the Fox Mulder character on the hit series The X - Files. It was The X - Files that first brought this figure into the mainstream, by capitalizing on the broad overlap between conspiracy theory and UFOlogy. Indeed the program's mottoes ("Trust no one" and "The truth is out there") also exemplify the epistemological double-bind of many paranoid conspiracy theorists – or "conspiranoiacs."

In spite of the tremendous energy exponents of the conventional wisdom put into denigrating conspiranoiac social, political, and historical analysis, such ideas resonate with a large enough portion of the general population to support a substantial cottage industry. Entrepreneurs working in this field include people such people as Art Bell, David Ickes, Alex Jones, Russ Kick, and many others, all typically very savvy in cross-promoting their work across the internet, radio, books, video, and lectures.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Conspiranoiac leitmotifs are tremendously varied and often contradictory. One good example is the varied attitudes towards a perennial bete noire, the Council on Foreign Relations. While some see it as the high cabal steering America into godless subordination under a world socialist government led by the United Nations, others see it as the high cabal steering America into transnational corporate imperialism. Comparably, conspiranoiacs also have a wide variety of attitudes towards their material. Some exercise the detached, self-reflexive irony of The X - Files' Fox Mulder. Some, particularly UFOlogists, push this irony far into high camp playfulness, to such an extent that a pilgrimage to Roswell, New Mexico or Area 51 in Nevada is more about whimsical affinity group bonding than true discovery. Some organize their lives around their beliefs and exhibit all of the tedious zealotry of a True Believer. Some exhibit the dispassionate rigor of social scientists.

Contemporary America has a schizophrenic attitude towards conspiranoia. On one hand, it has become the default popular view, one of commodified skepticism towards history and government. This sentiment has proliferated rapidly since the 1960s and Watergate. With the collapse of the reassuring dualities of the Cold War over the course of the 1990s, it has culminated in a pervasive apocalyptic teleology.
On the other hand, the disavowal of conspiranoia has also become an integral part of the conventional wisdom itself, a social technology of control that establishes the boundaries of "responsible discourse” by reflecting elite consensus on the fundamental nature of social reality, in accordance with the elite's own class interests. This makes for an incredibly effective means of establishing ruling class hegemony by controlling dissent, foreclosing alternatives, engineering support, and transmuting the interests of the ruling class into that of the nation as a whole.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

One is apt to be labeled a conspiracy theorist for merely suggesting that there is a ruling class that seeks to maintain hegemony, to say nothing of the idea that the ruling class occasionally uses conspiratorial methods. Rather than conspiracy theory, most media and intellectual gatekeepers prefer to view elite behavior through the lens of "somnambulist theory," "coincidence theory," "incompetence theory," or "spontaneity theory." No amount of intellectual gymnastics will be spared to avoid arriving at the conclusion that the rich and powerful, like the rest of us, might possibly act in support of their perceived best interests. This is, of course, in spite of a voluminous sociological literature on the power elite and “elite deviance,” a danger that laws against conspiracy are presumably designed to protect us from.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

True freedom of mind requires not only the negative absence of constraint but the positive presence of other alternatives. Even though the rich and powerful have repeatedly used conspiracy to get richer and more powerful, to mention this sociological fact immediately draws the most vicious criticism, including charges of superstition, cynicism, paranoia, hysteria, and primitivism.

Conspiranoia can and should be a tool of empirical explanation - it is possible to point fingers and name names. The powers that be, thousands of people enslaving six billion, act not in conspiracy but in tacit collusion, supporting an agenda of domination fostered by the similarity of their backgrounds, calibrated at key forums and through key organizations.

Ultimately, however, the appeal of conspiranoia is that of narrative itself: narrative’s ability to explain, predict, motivate, and entertain. Although conspiranoia offers the aficionado an integrated worldview, a weltanschauung, it is also provides more than this. When confronted with the potential evidence of conspiracy, one must ask, as in criminal trials: "Is there motive, means, and opportunity?" All too often there is, especially at the intersection of politics, law, high finance, intelligence, diplomacy, covert military operations, narcotrafficking, organized crime, and the media simulacrasphere – the place where so much of 20th century history has been made, and the juncture the Bush family has been sitting at for the last four generations.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Life writing can be an effective means of examining this nexus because "(l)ike biography, human conspiracy originates in a preconception of the person as historical agent." (Keener, John F. "Biography, Conspiracy, and the Oswald Enigma") Instead of the usual characterization of conspiracy theory as an individual psychopathology, conspiranoia can be better thought of as a populist fusion of life writing, historiography, and political science which provides explanatory narratives that void the epistemic warrant of the elite consensus on history, social reality, and the “conventional wisdom." This is a major development in the long tradition of popular resistance to state power and economic oligarchy, not of the right vs. left, but of the bottom vs. the top.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

At its best, conspiranoia is a radical exercise of the skepticism and critical reason at the heart of the Enlightenment project. In this sense it represents a last-ditch effort by the supposed repositories of popular sovereignty – the people - to save liberal humanism and the Enlightenment from their demented doppelgangers – the program of perpetual war for perpetual peace and the enslavement of the autonomous bourgeois subject under regimes of panoptic control managed by technocrats serving the super rich, using all of the awesomely powerful tools made possible by the nation-state system established since the Treaty of Westphalia.

Conspiranoia narratives could be empirical explanations of social reality, since it can easily be argued that "(c)onspiracy is the normal continuation of normal politics by normal means...and where there is no limit to power, there is no limit to conspiracy." (Carl Oglesby) The knee-jerk denigration of such attitudes by the mainstream, however, demonstrates that their disavowal has become a vital social technology of control in the late modern age. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, virtually all pre- and anti-capitalist systems have been colonized by "global monetocracy," a transnational corporate socialism that socializes the costs and privatizes the profits. This is kleptocracy by any other name, albeit a far more sophisticated version than that practiced by hacks like Marcos, Duvalier, Mobutu, and their ilk.

Although seemingly at its moment of universal triumph, this system may in fact be teetering on the brink of economic, political, and social collapse, which would surely usher in overt police state fascism in all of its core states. It is precisely the dramatically escalating accumulation of these fundamental contradictions with the global capitalist system that coincidence theorists try to deflect public attention away from with their vilification of conspiracy theories. This relentless disparagement continues even though, ala Occam's Razor, they often provide the simplest, most rational explanation. As Marx said in The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte:

"Men make their own history, but they do not make it just as they please; they do not make it under circumstances chosen by themselves, but under circumstances directly encountered, given, and transmitted from the past."

The power elite deliberately obscures the structural limitations on free will (that they themselves largely created) to mask the sad fact that, as human civilization has evolved from feudalism to democracy, we have traded kings and tsars for presidents and prime ministers but the money power behind the scenes has remained the same. Worse yet, it has allowed only the absolute minimum concessions to the establishment of a sane economic, political, and legal order needed to stave off social revolution.

This is not enough. The regime of capital accumulation survives by feeding off of the subject body while simultaneously stupefying the subject mind with the myth of individual agency and doing everything in the regime's power to ensure that this agency cannot be used in any meaningful way. In such an environment, denigrating conspiranoia becomes a means of cordoning off from the masses the facts that they are being lied to every day of their lives by authority figures and the consumerist hydrocarbon-based industrial civilization they live in is arguably psychopathic and terminal.

While the provisional government of politicians does the lying, they do so in the service of a permanent government above and behind political power, a secular oligarchy working in tacit collusion. In America they are the great commercial dynasties, 500 Fortune companies and their lobbyists, media simulacrasphere, civil and military services, and large research universities, law firms, and charitable foundations. They hire the politicians and establish the boundaries of the politicians' agenda.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

They authorize the production of regular elections/pageants to protect the brand name of American democracy. They convince a large enough portion of the general population that the system still works, so that the machinery of oppression, theft, enslavement, and murder can continue to operate without friction.

Camps within this oligarchy make effective use of the Bilderberg Group, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Economic Forum at Davos, Bank of International Settlements, World Trade Organization, Council of Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, Bohemian Grove, Group of Eight, Trans-Atlantic Business Council, and other organizations to calibrate their rhetoric, achieve consensus, and even set policy superceding that of sovereign governments. This isn't done in smoky star chambers, however, but in the miasmic group think of those with similar backgrounds, class interests, and institutional positions, all pursuing the interests of the global capitalist system by pursuing misguided senses of their own self interest.

As the key nations of transnational corporate imperialism degenerate into police states, they slowly strip citizens of their rights, periodically manufacturing incidents and crises to use as excuses for increased governmental power. Meanwhile, the media toes the government line, lulling the people – or the “sheeple” – to sleep. Eventually, agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), and militarized local police will confiscate all weapons and imprison any citizens who dare oppose authoritarian rule.

Pittsburgh August 2005

Although conspiranoiacs exist in great variety, many share a belief in the rough outline of this dystopian nightmare. If true, it is the truth which cannot be spoken. For that reason, the media gatekeepers will continue to dismiss anything that challenges the conventional wisdom as a "conspiracy theory" until some catalyst finally reveals enough of the horrible truth to enough people, facilitating a paradigm shift of world historical importance.

The ills of society can neither be ameliorated nor even adequately described by means of the law alone. Nevertheless, progressive efforts to ameliorate these ills cannot succeed without committed work in the legal field. However, such work will be necessarily defensive in posture until such time as substantial extraparliamentary pressure is brought to bear on the system by means of “either grassroots citizen participation in credible progressive projects or rebellious acts of desperation that threaten the social order.” (Cornell West) With adequate reach into a broad enough segment of the general population by leaking past the media oligarchy, armed with adequate credibility by weeding itself of the pervasive disinformation that so often taints it, conspiranoiac analysis has the potential to precipitate and consolidate a very significant portion of that extraparliamentary pressure.

As the dean of American conspiranoia, Robert Anton Wilson, put it "Like it or not, the people of the fringe are in an apocalyptical struggle: either the elite techniques of control will be perfected to the level where dissent can be abolished, or heretics will mutate to some level of consciousness where they can do holy and miraculous works to resurrect the old dream of freedom for all."

Although this may seem a millennial hope, it may also be a cogent empirical analysis of a decisive historical crossroads. In any event, until consciousness is liberated to such a degree as to enable the establishment of an abiding regime of peace, social justice, and environmental sustainability, as Rousseau said, "Man is born free, yet he is everywhere in chains."

Will martial law be declared soon? I think not.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Portland

I used to think the declaration of martial law was inevitable. Lately I've come to think that it won't be declared - because for all intents and purposes it is already here. For example, this attack was a clear violation of Posse Comitatus, which is supposed to keep the military out of domestic law enforcement (even though they've been used at the poilitical conventions and elsewhere lately anyway too). I think radicals/progressives/liberals are waiting for a clear flipping of a switch like martial law as their indication to say "Ok here it is. It's on now. Time to resist." But I think the Evildoers know that and are careful not to provide that clear marker, in part because that might even eventually arouse Joe Sixpack (especially when it causes his Nascar race to be cancelled).

Since the legal, law enforcement, judicial and military foundations for post-democratic friendly fascism are already fully in place and operational (and these incidents are like everyone has been saying, practice runs for the sexually frustrated psychopaths who conduct these actions, psy-ops to desensitize the sheeple to domestic military occupation, and a red lining of the system to verify that they can gradually get away with more and more), why bother going through the formality of declaring martial law? From their perspective, it could potentially be counterproductive to their goal of unrestricted brutality and social control in service of transnational corporate kleptocracy.

The question is "how can we restrict their brutality?" Clearly, it can now longer be done through elective politics (unless the incredibly long long LONG shot of a viable alternative to the RepubliCrat duopoly emerging and winning a few dozen seats in 2006 occurs). Hillary in 2008? Don't make me laugh. That (or whichever militarist corporate stooge the democrats run) certainly won't restrict it. In fact, I think anyone who studies politics and history in any depth can't escape the conclusion that JFK was whacked to provide presidents with an object lesson that there are some boundaries they may not cross, that they are simply CEOs beholden to a military industrial complex Board of Directors that is much more powerful then them and will not hesitate to physically destroy them. Unfortunately, the lines that cannot be crossed are those that lead to peace, social justice and environmental sustainability. Doubly unfortunately, we are fast approaching or may have already passed a point of no return after which it will not be possible to aspire to peace, social justice and environmental sustainability without going through a period of cataclysmic environmental damage (and resulting human die-off?), profound social dislocation, and quite possibly even nuclear war.

So how then to restrict their brutality before these soul dead psychopaths kill us in large numbers and irretreivably damage our fragile little space ship? As the underread and often misinterpreted political philosopher Max Stirner said, it is actually pretty simple: They will do whatever They can get away with; the only freedom we have is what we can defend.

All your drum and bass are belong to us

Jackbooted fascist thugs in full combat gear (allegedly local cops and SWAT teams, although they look like military troops to me) attacked a legal, insured, fully permitted rave called Verses in Utah County, Utah over the weekend.

An unlinked commentator on What Really Happened claimed that a "source inside the Utah government reports that this action was undertaken out of fear that the rave would be used to rally support for the protest against Bush's Utah visit."

Welcome to Amerikkka. If you think it can't happen here - news flash - it already is and has been for along time. It just wasn't happening to middle class white kids. This brutal attack was instigated to condition the people to police state repression and to give the fascists some intitial practice mauling peaceful civilian gatherings - based on the premise that they are about to start becoming a whole lot more common.

First they came for Muslims, and I said nothing, because I was not a Muslim. Then they came for ravers, and I said nothing, because I had no glow stick.

Utah is one of the most conservative (and creepy and beautiful) states in the country, so we shouldn't be surprised that it is the setting for one of the early episodes of the raw power crackdown that will become ever more prevelant throughout Amerikkka in the next few years. Music is a powerful source of community, solidarity and unity, which can easily lead to social and political consciousness, just like rock did in the 1960s. Clearly, the Evildoers - the Amerikkkan chapter of transnational corporate kleptocracy - cannot allow any sources of community, solidarity and unity to develop any strength. Hence their need to beat up teenage girls.

You think they'll do the same at Nascar tailgate parties? Somehow I doubt it.

There can be no question Amerikkka is Slouching Towards Empire, as economics and investing site Daily Reckoning reminds us.

"Americans believe they can get rich by spending someone else’s money. They believe that foreign countries actually want to be invaded and taken over. They believe they can run up debt - forever…and that their debt-laden houses are as good as money in the bank."

Why a new civil war is inevitable in Amerikkka

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.
Hosea 8:7

A new civil war, actually more of a civil war/revolution hybrid, is inevitable due to a confluence of trends culminating in a perfect storm. Cointellpro hacks and Echelon spiderbots: clearly understand this, I am neither calling for it, nor do I advocate violence (in spite of the horrific violence that undergirds the history and contemporary reality of Amerikkkan state power). Indeed, in the course of the coming turmoil, many people who don't deserve to will suffer - although of course many people who deserve to meet justice will instead grow rich in safety. And the end result is likely to be the replacement of one set of corrupt elites with another, as has happened with every revolution - sorry doctrainaire revolutionary socialists (and shallow enthusiasts of the American revolution). Nevertheless, when one studies the assembled evidence from an intellectually honest, historical materialist point of view, it seems to be coming soon, sure as the sun sets each day.

The biggest reason why is probably because the "right" (what do labels really mean - virtually nothing at this point, with both parties clamoring to execute the wishes of the same military-industrial complex Board of Directors, fused together in perpetual wargasm), as it clawed its way back to power since Watergate (in what, tactically, was truly a masterful long march through the institutions), focused their pitch to the fuck-kill-eat lizard brain part of the brain. Actually, not even the brain - in human beings, rather, it is the brain stem. This meant the use of image and sound bites appealing to emotion over critical reason, in fact suffocating critical reason, a course of action made decidely easier by the rise of a virulently anti-science/anti-reason, reactionary, jingoistic, bible-thumping evangelical fundamentalist christianity (who know nothing whatsoever of Jesus' message as the prince of peace) as the handmaiden to "right-wing" power and the wholesale collapse of public education, which has raised two generations of selfish, consumerist, know-nothing zombies.

In cultivating this obese, brain-dead horde of sheeple clamoring to trade the achingly beautiful evolutionary miracle of reason and consciousness for blind submission to authoritarian reactionaries, the scumfucking "leaders" were especially fond of "fetishizing violence as a token of moral toughness" (nice wording, posted by Lemon Merengue at Poor Man). The phrases below are merely a few of the choicest morsels in this gluttonous bloodfeast of hate.

Unfortunately, the unstoppable force of a vast pool of willfully ignorant morons slavishly devoted to authority figures who eat their substance while peddling them filthy hateful lies, who have a bottomless capacity for self-delusion and cognitive dissonance (which by all laws of physics should have already made their heads explode long ago) are about to be confronted by the immovable object of Reality: Amerikkka's full-blown, permanent economic collapse, possibly intensified by the effects of 50% of Americans finally (with soul-numbingly painful slowness) realizing that Amerikkka's military imperialism is anti-future, anti-human and anti-planet (to say nothing of financially unaffordable) and perhaps the karmic hammer of Peak Oil dropping down (although more on my agnoticism regarding Peak Oil later).

In other words, when the shit hits the fan, the knuckle-dragging dittoheads, freepers and other assorted holy rollers are going to blame anyone their vaunted "leaders" tell them to blame as long as it helps prevent them from blaming themselves, their venal RepubliCrat war pig politicians, 115 years of raw military imperialism, and the karmic baggage associated with being a nation built on genocide, land theft, and slavery of a scale never seen before in human history. When the unwelcome effects of Reality begin to intrude on their beloved Freedom - which is nothing more or less than the "freedom" to watch cable TV, drink beer, shop at Wal Mart and worship celebrities in an undisturbed solipsistic haze while the rich and powerful that they adore so much lie to, murder and steal from them - they are basically going to flip out and engage in the violence for which they have been primed for so long.

While this may give them some of the first exercise they have experienced since high school, it won't be healthy. Running down crosses at Camp Casey is just one of the opening shots.

We’re going to keep building the party until we’re hunting Democrats with dogs.

Senator Phil Gramm (R-TX)
Mother Jones, 8/1995

I tell people don’t kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus - living fossils - so we will never forget what these people stood for.

Rush Limbaugh
Denver Post, 12/29/1995

Environmentalists are a socialist group of individuals that are the tool of the Democrat Party. I’m proud to say that they are my enemy. They are not Americans, never have been Americans, never will be Americans.

Rep. Don Young (R-AK)
Alaska Public Radio, 8/19/1996

Get rid of the guy. Impeach him, censure him, assassinate him.

Rep. James Hansen (R-UT)
11/1/1998

Chelsea is a Clinton. She bears the taint; and though not prosecutable in law, in custom and nature the taint cannot be ignored. All the great despotisms of the past - I’m not arguing for despotism as a principle, but they sure knew how to deal with potential trouble - recognized that the families of objectionable citizens were a continuing threat. In Stalin’s penal code it was a crime to be the wife or child of an ‘enemy of the people.’ The Nazis used the same principle, which they called Sippenhaft, ‘clan liability.’ In Imperial China, enemies of the state were punished ‘to the ninth degree’: that is, everyone in the offender’s own generation would be killed and everyone related via four generations up, to the great-great-grandparents, and four generations down, to the great-great-grandchildren, would also be killed.

John Derbyshire
National Review, 2/15/2001

The middle part of the country–the great red zone that voted for Bush–is clearly ready for war. The decadent left in its enclaves on the coasts is not dead–and may well mount a fifth column.

Andrew Sullivan
London Sunday Times, 9/16/01

Why are we sending aircraft carriers halfway around the world to look for enemies, when our nation’s worst enemies–communists proclaiming an anti-American jihad–will be right there in front of the Washington Monument on Saturday?

Robert Stacy McCain
Washington Times, 9/27/01

Talk about ironic: the same people urging us not to blame the victim in rape cases are now saying that Uncle Sam wore a short skirt and asked for it.

Jonathan Alter
Newsweek, 10/1/2001

We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors.

Ann Coulter
2/26/2002

My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.

Ann Coulter
New York Observer, 8/26/2002

John Kerry has it tough. As I’ve mentioned before, he’s been trying to send a positive message on the war when many people in his own party are actively rooting for the other side.

Glenn Reynolds
4/15/2004

I have known some of the liberal world quite well and for a long time, and there are quite obviously people close to the leadership of today’s Democratic Party who do not at all hope that the battle goes well in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Christopher Hitchens
9/27/2004

Bush hatred has become a defining characteristic for many liberals—so much so that they appear to identify with it more surely and swiftly than they do their American citizenship. At times, some extremist liberals seem to be rooting against their fellow Americans and in favor of those who would kill us.

Tara Ross
2/1/2005

One can only admire Hendrickson’s candor in admitting what is usually hotly denied: that even many leading realists, along with many liberal internationalists, are rooting for an American defeat.

Norman Podhoretz
2/2005

Let me put this in fairly simple terms: Al Jazeera now broadcasts to the region the words of Senator Durbin, certainly putting America’s men and women in uniform in greater danger. No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals.

Karl Rove
6/22/2005

Everybody got it? Dissent, fine; undermining, you’re a traitor. Got it? So, all those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains, because they, you know, they’re undermining everything and they don’t care, couldn’t care less.

Bill O’Reilly
6/20/2005

While our men and women in uniform put their lives on the line each day to defend our safety and to protect our freedoms, I am sure the least they expect is the backing and the support of their leaders at home. To the contrary, what we’ve seen from Democrat leaders is a growing pattern of jumping at any chance to point the finger at our own troops, bending over backwards to promote the interests of terror-camp detainees while dragging our military’s honored reputation through the mud.

Rep. Deborah Pryce (R-OH)
6/23/2005

[It] is just inconceivable and truly incorrigible that in the midst of the war, that the Democratic leaders would be conducting guerrilla warfare on American troops. … [The Pelosi/Waxman proposal for an independent commission to investigate conditions at Guantanamo Bay is] simply another example of some Democrat leaders trusting the words of terrorists over the proven decency of U.S. troops.

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC)
6/23/2005

The Democratic leadership priority is to actively engage in the politics of division and distraction that can undermine our national security in favor of a left-wing agenda.

Ron Bonjean
6/23/2005

Wouldn’t it be great if anybody who speaks out against this country, to kick them out of the country? Anybody that threatens this country, kick ‘em out. We’d get rid of Michael Moore, we’d get rid of half the Democratic Party if we would just import that law. That would be fabulous. The Supreme Court ought to look into this. Absolutely brilliant idea out there.

Rush Limbaugh
8/11/2005

The citizen has privileges which are not accorded to the alien. He is the master in the Reich. But this high honour has also its obligations. Those who show themselves without personal honour or character, or common criminals, or traitors to the fatherland, can at any time be deprived of the rights of citizenship. Therewith they become merely subjects of the State.

Iraq (Gulf War 2.0) is where Amerikkka is beta-testing alot of the weapons it will be using on its own people when the economy collapses, weapons like Active Denial.

The Bush Family Evil Empire orchestrated 911. They just needed some patsies to pin it on, like Mohammad Atta, as the Able Danger expose shows.

Chris Floyd is always on-point. In his latest column he states the obvious: the Cheney administration is planning on more war, because that is all they know.
